Hey everyone,
I was just thinking about Lia's offer to help Wybjorn with some arrows, and I was thinking that there's a lot I can do to help us out if we hole up in a town for a while. I can enchant weapons and armor as well as create some items. This will take time and money though. The process also requires that I put a bit of my essence into the item I create, which weakens me, as well as spend a lot of money on things that are related to the stuff I craft so I'd want some compensation for my work.
Some examples are I could make Jillian's armor about twice as protective if it's not magical already, and I can make her sword half again as deadly. It would also be able to affect creatures like the wererats Wybjorn has spoken of. I can also make boots like Wybjorn's, backpacks like mine, and myriad other items.
I also need to spend some time scribing some of these scrolls I have into my spellbook. Writing some other scrolls as well so that I can be a lot more effective when we go out. Probably something on the order of a month.
Anyway, I wanted to put that out there so everyone could think about it. If any of you are interested in stuff, let me know what you'd like and we can talk about how it might need to be done and how much it would cost.

Hmm...
Interesting suggestion Bacucu.
Of course, here we are in the middle of nowhere and Jillian and I are trying to find - well, something important. But her clues lead us here, so surely we'll find it any day now. I wouldn't mind staying in a town for awhile after that. You certainly know enough magic that I could probably learn a thing or two from you...

Eh, I get by with what I know, and I'll be happy to help you out, but, although we use some of the same spells, there are fundamental differences between how we use magic. The similarities in the energies we manipulate allow us to use some of the same items, but the manner in which you channel those energies has severely limited what you can do with them. Were you to choose to take a more disciplined approach, I could certainly show you some of the powers available to you, but as it stands, I fear all I could do is perhaps show you a few different spells you could hope to mimic.
It really is quite interesting to me actually that so many of your father's kind (You did say your father was the elf didn't you? Please forgive me if I presume too much.) become wizards actually. Most of the elves I've met are not so much for the self-disciplined nature that I would think be paramount in a race becoming known for it's magi. Of course there are those who would perhaps say the same of me, which is interesting its own right. Hmmm....
Anyway, of course there is little we can do in our current situation that I can help with, just cast the spells I know and offer any advice I have. But eventually, I will need to spend some time in a town, and when that opportunity offers itself....
Besides, didn't Wybjorn say he wanted to see his mother? I know a shortcut back to his town you know.

Hmm...
I think I'm happy with the specialization I've made, Bacucu. But that doesn't mean I'm not interested in how you do things - even if it's different. Like you said, our magic can acomplish the same things - so it's not unreasonable to me that I could learn new ways to use my magic from you.
As for my father and I's people - they have much time to devote themselves, which allows them to study many things. I gather from talking to you that your magic takes much study - which you have time for. Magic is not my goal though - it is just a means to my goal.
But I hope we find time for you to study, for I find you an interesting friend, Bacucu.

I dont know if I can tink of anyting, 'cept maybe, well, how bout stuff dat makes me harder to hit or stuff dat makes me hit harder? Or both? Or how bout a dohicky dat warns me if I'm walking over a pit or someting dat keeps me from falling too hard. Or maybe one of dose tingys like da dragon slayer had dat he kep all his weapons in and it let him get to dem lickity-split. Or how bout anyting dat makes me stronger or faster? Maybe you could fix dis ring so it don't slow me down so much? How bout a talkin mirror dat I can see my mom in and talk to her? How bout one of dem prickly cloaks like Jill & Lia gots? Dose are pretty good. Or how bout a magic mug dats always full o'beer? Yeah!
Oooh I know! Forget ebryting else, I wan-a endless orange pudding pie! Can you do dat? I'd pay big for dat magic. Can you huh? Huh?

Wyjborn, my friend, I don't know anything about all that. I've just been trying to give you some old arrows that I think would help you out more now than they would me. I guess you'll just have to see what Bacucu has to say about all the rest. He's really the expert in that field.
Of course if anyone in this group is interested in bow related items - then I could help you. But I think we've already figured out that's not the direction this group runs.
What's this about a Dragon Slayer? You know, I killed a dragon once...

Well, it looks to me that we're heading into a town...can't really tell if this is where I'll find what I'm looking for, but it's the right track I'd wager. As far as spending a month here...if there's clues for me to follow, I'll follow them, if not then I'd need to get back to the caves to continue the search from there. Although, Bacucu's suggestion for some tougher armor without exchanging my flexibility is tempting. Also, magicking some of these bolts would be nice, since that's my primary weapon.  I know how you wizard's are with your time to prepare things...I've been around my fair share of your kind, Bacucu. So, I guess bottom line is if this town looks promising for me I don't mind staging out of it for a while till Bacucu is ready to go with us on a longer trek or continue the one we're on.

Yeah, da dragonslayer. Well see, he was really really good wit a bow. Saw him kill two dragons wit it. He shot lightning arrows. He was pretty cool. Too bad he was really demon spawn in disguise. What can you do?
